Pedasi

Pedasi is a charming little town off the tip of the Azuero Peninsula. It’s located approximately 4 1/2 hour drive from either Panama City or David. The area bost some of the best beaches, surfing and fishing in Panama. Unlike other regions in Panama, the Pedasi area is known for having the lowest annual precipitation levels in all of Panama. The months of January though April are very dry with a cool ocean breeze making it ideal for sun lovers and ocean adventurers. The remainder of the year the precipitation levels moderatly increase to 100 - 200mm of rain fall. The area is currently experiencing a growth phase with several new high end developments commencing construction on projects that offer all the ameneties you would expect in a first class costal community. The town recently received approval for a new hospital to be located at the entrance of town. In addition a handful of developers and retailers are looking to expand Pedasi´s retail presence with planned strip malls and big box retail locations.

Pedasi is home to some of the best surfing in Panama. Playa Venado, also known as Playa Venao is the most popular Pedasi surf destination. It is located 30 minutes outside of Pedasi. This wide, gray, sandy beach cove stretches for approximatly 3km. Venao is know for hosting major international surf competitions. Vanao beach also offers several nice beach bar restaurants with good food and a great atmosphoere. Some of the countries best boutique hotels are popping up to cater to the growing number of tourist arriving each day to take in the surfing and the sun at this beautiful costal destination.

One unique aspect of the Pedasi real estate market is you don´t have many unexperienced developers coming in and buying up land and flipping it without ever finishing the agreed upon infrastucture work needed to build a house. The area has attracted a handful of seasoned developers who are delivering on the vision they have put forth in developing a fun and elegant coastal community. In and outside of Pedasi you only have 4 or 5 exellent beaches and this has somewhat limited the prime location readily available for a first class development. The closest beach to Pedasi is Playa el Toro which is approximetly a 5 min drive from town. This just happens to be the area where most of the developers have invested a substantial amount of time and money in planning a coastal community that in our opinion will far exceed other coastal locations in Panama. The price point for this area ranges from $250K to over $500K for a new home on or near the beach.
