Caldera

Upon entering the town of Caldera you are immediatly struck by the friendly atmosphere and unique beauty of this diamond in the rough. Caldera is like the sister region of Bouqete with equally beautiful mountains, rivers and vegetation but without the crowds. You will find some of the best rivers the country has to offer in the Chiriqui, Peña Blanca and Casita de Piedra rivers.

The Caldera region elevation ranges from 1000 feet in the main city of Caldera to over 5,000 feet atop the higher mountains producing various micro climates throughout the region. Temperatures range from the mid 80 F during the day to a 68 F – 72 F low at night time. The dry season typically running from late December to early June is comfortably sunny and dry, with winds of varying intensity. The rainy however is a delightful mixture of sun and rain that leads to stunning lush landscape setting. Caldera is located approximetly 25 minutes from all the shopping and services found in David and 10 minutes from downtown Boquete where you can enjoy popular restaurants, coffee bars and other services. If not traveling by car you will find a readily available network of bus transportation for a very modest fee.

Caldera is well know for it’s natural hot water springs which can be reached via 4×4 vehicles or your friendly Re/Max guide. If you have a chance to visit this area make it a point to stop in a local restaurant off the road and get a taste of true exquisite Panamanian food.

The region is predominantly a cattle and farming region and you will see this camofloged in the beautiful green hills and by the presence of traditional Panamanian cowboys . Because of the recent infrastructure improvement the are is beginning to see an increase in people making this area their new home along with an increase in agricultural production in coffee do to the desirable climate and soils.

From a real estate perspective Caldera offers great deals for investors. Compared to other regions in Chiriqui you will find attractive low priced farm land, beautiful mountain properties for personal residence, eco-resorts hotels properties and even several residential development projects.
